A Day with Yaki, my Cat

Have you ever noticed that magazines interviews always contain the question “Tell us about your typical day.” Or there are those fashion bloggers posts like “10 things I do during the day” or “7 highlights of my day” or one of those trendy number-catchy-titles that all websites use at the moment.
Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, today I am pleased to present you, A Day with Yaki, my cat. And no, that story about cats sleeping all day long is absolutely untrue, I guess that some dog-lover invented it. Yaki does NOT sleep the whole day and when he does not sleep I can summarize his primary activity in one word: MESS. But here are his favorite activities.

Watching down from the balcony. His favourite activity. Watching out of the window is for cats like watching tv.

Sleeping on the couch and on the Gurli. The Gurli (which is the name of a Swedish blanket from a Swedish furniture company you won’t ever guess). Where you put the Gurli, he sleeps on it. Summer excluded. Not a stupid cat.

Playing with the rubber parts of our windows. Which is strictly prohibited. And causes hysterical shouting from anyone who detects him doing so. Same when he scratches the doors.

Food time! Fish is his favourite meal.

Hiding behind the curtain. This activity is actually not allowed too because the nice Hide-and-Seek play always evolves in some violent “Knock off the Curtain” game where the second half is a not funny-at-all solo play and consists for me in Hang the Curtains Up Again.

Sleeping on the mess that someone else (me) left on the table. Have you seen “The Intern”, the movie with Anne Hathaway? There is a scene in a fashion office where they have a table where everybody leave things that they do not know where else to put it and becomes some kind of stuff parking. Well what a coincidence, I have one too!

Playing with Mommy. Ooooh, I like that. Sweety.

Being beautiful. And he is very good at it.

  2. Ottimo articolo.
