The “3 Pieces Rule”

3-pieces-rule-1

What’s the “Three Pieces Rule?” I found out that to create perfect balanced basic or minimal look you will need 3 pieces: a trench, shirt and a pair of jeans. Or trousers, plus top and biker jacket. For example. But there are endless possibilities. The secret is that the three items you choose have to mix good together to create a balance. Or – that’s a sub-rule – one but only one – can stand out. That creates a less basic look. And that’s why I always recommend to choose quality basic clothes. They won’t last just for one season. So you can create more of these good-lokking easy-to-wear looks.

  1. Great advice and looks ! I also swear by the no-more-than-three-colours rule….

  2. Good rule! I’ve been noticing that too: Simple basic pieces like jeans or white T-shirts are so important for so many looks!
