1. I always ask myself that question when I think about what to post as outfits on my blog, i.e. ‘Is this wearable? Does this fit into everyday life’? Often I find myself neglecting the latter. However, I post what I post because it reflects my personality and what I want to express, even if others wouldn’t dare to wear what I do. Often I was ridiculed during my university years and even now for my outfit decisions and being myself always lead me to a lonely place.
   Perhaps what I wear sometimes is not wearable for the majority, but at least I am being (or trying to) be authentic.
   There’s the other question about bloggers inspiring others and stimulating the ability to dream. I don’t think bloggers should limit themselves to ‘wearable’ everyday outfits. I don’t think this should be exclusive for magazines. Then we’d only had outfits with basics and uniforms all over blogs and that would be quite monotonous in my opinion. Sure, you can make an outfit composed of basics stand out and be unique, but that’s not my point. I think excentricity, dreaming, and yes, even the unwearable have their place in fashion blogs, not only in magazines. While I wouldn’t show my undies with a coat on top on a pic (I know a blogger who does this) and the outrageous stuff you find in editorials, I think the key is to balance what you dream of wearing (the outrageous included) and what you would step out of the door with without people looking at you like if you were an alien (this is the story of my life, even at my most ‘normal’).
   BTW, I do love this post and it made me chuckle! I so love that this is a place for stimulating your thoughts on fashion and other things. x

   • This was meant just as a funny post but I agree with what you are writing! Wearable dosesn’t have to mean basic or common. The point is that 80% of outfit bloggers at this point only wear what they are paid to wear and this hasn’t anything to do with “excentricity”. I love excencitrity, I love personal choices, but just a few bloggers – and you are one of them – still care for that.

2. Couldn’t agree more with your post. What’s with the overly long, long sleeves these days… oh dear…don’t get me started. I love clothes, and love fashion editorials mostly for the beautiful clothes and the creativity, but I think blogs serve another purpose. One reader called my blog “applied fashion” because I peruse the mags and try to interpret trends for someone my age. And I can’t bring myself to post something on my blog that I wouldn’t actually wear.
