Inspiration: Granny Crochet

House of Holland’s 2011-12 Fall Collection has presented some outfits with “granny crochet” dresses and scarves and suddenly it is in fashion again. Guess how many of us do have a blanket like this… I do have one! And below you see a picture of my own crochet vest, and it was really made by grandmother! It’s a sweet memory I keep of her… I remember that I brought her the page of a magazine where there was a photo of the vest and asked her to knit it exactly like it was on the mag. If I remember well (it was about 12 years ago!) the vest on the mag was by Dolce & Gabbana…

Nell’attuale collezione invernale House of Holland ha proposto alcuni look con i tipici quadrati a maglia nero-colorati “delle nonne” ed ecco che sono di nuovo in fashion. Chissà quante di voi magari hanno a casa una coperta fatta così. Io ne ho una! E anche un gilet – nella foto che vedete qui sotto – fatto proprio da mia nonna. E’ un suo ricordo che conservo con amore… Le avevo portato la pagina di una rivista dove era stato fotografato questo gilet chiedendole se potesse farmene uno uguale. E se non ricordo male – sono passati ormai più di 12 anni – il gilet della rivista era di una lontanissima collezione di Dolce & Gabbana…

  2. ADORO questa lavorazione, anch'io ho delle coperte così fatte da mia madre :) proprio ieri pensavo di farmi insegnare la tecnica (molto facile a suo dire) e di confezionarmi una bella sciarpona per l'inverno.

    I like crochet in fact and its true, its "IN" again!!

    Unfortunately my grand mo is absolutely rubbish fro crochet and thinks like this!! I will have to go to a shop to can find some scarf or things like that! xx

  4. il gilet è un pezzo unico che terrai per sempre! A parte che è bellissimo e poi è fatto dalla nonna quindi….veramente un ricordo dolcissimo!

    avevo già visto la foto di urban outfiters, mi era piaciuta moltissmo! e ora vedere una selezione così varia è molto interessante!
