“On January 6th, 2016, The New York Public Library made over 187K digital items in the public domain available for high resolution download”. This is the kind of new that thrills me: 187K of free vintage analogic photos?! I couldn’t be happier! You know how much I love photo research and I clicked on the site the second after I found out. Now I can spend hours browsing through those images. It’s a little tricky to find out how it works (click random on a photo then you get how the classification works!) but once you have, you’ll find such great photography archives here: maps, architecture photos, illustrations, it’s just great! Of course the first thing I searched for was fashion photography. And here are some of my faves images, great shots from 1940 to 1960. That still look so modern btw. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

P.S. You probably all know the NYPL from Sex & the City: in the first movie, Carrie and Mr. Big plan to hold their wedding at the library because, as Carrie says, it is “the classic New York landmark that housed all the great love stories”.
