5 Vintage Stores You Need to Know

FIVE_WITH-larmadio-del-delitto

How charming is a French accent? And Cécile‘s blog, a French girl living in Turin, Italy (she married an Italian guy!) is just as charming. Her blog L’Armadio del Delitto is well known in Italy among vintage fashion lovers since she focused on that through the years (and her blog just turned seven!). Cécile is definitely the right person to ask for good stores and addresses. And here they are, online stores and physical adresses, in Italy and overseas. With Cécile’s own reviews.

1 | Dear Golden “The best vintage archive I know, where you can find a collection of garments from the 1910 to the’ 60s. Vintage clothes from the first half of 1900 are becoming more and more rare (and deffinitely expensive!), and Lauren, a former yoga teacher and passionate of fashion history, discovers herself high-quality pieces and sells them on Etsy. A store that’s worth visiting just for the pleasure”.

2 | Kamomeya: “I love Japanese vintage and I have my addresses also in Europe! From Japanese vintage I like the minimalist cuts and combinations of colours, which are a bit different to ours in Europe. My favorite Japanese vintage boutique is Jule’s, a Japanese student who lives in Paris and sells Japanese clothing from the 60s to 80s”.

3 | Mamie: “I am French and each time I go to Paris, I end up in a thousand vintage shops. Mamie (“grandmother” in French) is a typically Parisian vintage shop packed with stuff. Garments and accessories of all kinds and thousands of shoes (I’m not exaggerating), all at more than fair prices. Mamie also provides clothing for French movies. ”

Two different stores in the same street: Mamie, 73 rue de Rochechouart 75009, Paris and Mamie Blue, 69 rue de Rochechouart, 75009 Paris3. Mamie Blue 4 | Gran Balon: “I visited several flea markets and vintage shops throughout Italy and the place I recommend is the Gran Balon, a flea market in Turin which is held every second Sunday of the month. The Gran Balon is bigger and better than you would imagine, the choice of clothes, accessories, objects and furniture is immense and above all it is 100% authentic vintage (no Chinese stuff!). If you like vintage, Grand Balon is really worth a weekend in Turin.

5 | L’armadio del delitto “And here is my own online boutique, where I sell clothes of my aunt Cecilia who has spent her life collecting husbands and luxury clothes. Hence the clothes (from the 50s to the 80s). Soon I will sell even the husbands”.
