blueWEEKLY #7

blueWEEKLY-07

Here I am with my little Sunday’s web inspiration.

1 | The Game-Changing Martin Margiela Show of 1989 via BoF: a retrospective on Maison Martin Margiela’s landmark 1989 fashion show, published on the The Gentlewoman last issue and shared via Business of Fashion, is a fantastic read. Fashion media suffers from a lack of collective memory. It’s good to remember major moments like this Margiela show that are essential to understanding how fashion got to where it is today.

2 | Amanda Jasnoski Photography: “Brooklyn-based photographer Amanda Jasnowski’s belief in “never taking yourself too seriously” shines through in her vibrant and playful portfolio. Amanda’s regularly faceless compositions of human flesh are indicative of a desire to play around with traditional portraiture”. [via It’s Nice That]

3 | GAL – Girls at Library: “GAL, short for “girls at library” is an online magazine that delves into the individual worlds of avid readers who identify as female. Each GAL interviewed offers up their opinions about literature, favorite book recommendations, and an intimate look inside their own libraries”. After The Coveteur for closets, The Selby for homes, Into The Gloss for beauty shelves I’m really happy to have found this site focused on interviews, books and photography. I have already found new titles for my book-wishlist.

4 | Margaux Keller: Margaux Keller is a young French designer who likes to explore everyday codes. She analyzes social behavior and habit in order to discover the unexpected which she then fuses into her creations. She graduated from the ancestral Ecole Boulle in Paris in industrial design now works with craftsmen, ebenistes, ceramists, glass blowers and other material experts. Her strength: bringing a touch of humor in designing interiors as well as objects. She collaborates with international brands from the fashion, art and design world.

5 | New York Fashion Week Invitations via AD: Fashion Bloggers often instagram their invitations to fashion shows. Although it’s not considered “cool” anymore. What if Architectural Digest does it?
